The uniqueness of Cal-Cemex®
The uniqueness of Cal-Cemex®, our innovative biomaterial, results from its hybrid formulation combining two components: Beta-Tricalcium Phosphate (β-TCP) and Polymethyl Methacrylate (PMMA). Due to its composition, Cal-Cemex® is an elastic material which is able to withstand pressure without shattering. It can be easily drilled using a common surgical drill and its mechanical properties makes it an excellent support for surgical screws.
Cal-Cemex® can be milled to best fit the anatomical site in which it is inserted, and it also remains compact and does not dissolve when it comes into contact with other biological fluids. Finally, this unique material is highly modellable: inserts of various shapes and sizes can be created to fit any anatomical district.
